BRS-18Li-XK: Brushless Motor, Makita Compatibility, and a European Perspective on Tools
Today's power tools are either tethered to an outlet or tethered to your wallet. A corded saw means depending on an extension cord and hunting for a socket. A cordless model from a top foreign brand often costs as much as half a construction crew. The goal was simple: create a cordless reciprocating saw that doesn't sacrifice power for battery convenience and doesn't require the whole team to chip in for a single tool.
Who needs it and why we made it. For plumbers tired of dragging extension cords through floors and searching for outlets in dusty new-build corridors. For roofers working at heights, where every time you reposition a portable socket wastes time and energy. For installers who need mobility without being tied to the mains. And for homeowners whose property begins where the power cord ends. When you need to clear dry branches on your plot, trim a board for the porch, or dismantle an old greenhouse, the question "where can I find a socket?" simply disappears.
The tool is designed according to European engineering principles: no weak links, yet every component is purpose-built for the task.

Brushless motor
Efficiency ranges from 75 to 90%. For a brushed motor, this figure hovers around 50–60%. This difference directly impacts runtime: on a single charge, the saw delivers 30% more cuts. The motor itself has a 70% longer service life due to the absence of a brush system. With a body weight of 1.6 kg, the motor maintains stable RPMs even when the blade cuts through wet wood or encounters an old nail.
22 mm stroke with fixed 2° pendulum action
The pendulum is always active, with the amplitude angle engineered to a fixed 2 degrees. This is enough to eject sawdust from the cut and prevent the blade from binding in wood, yet subtle enough to prevent the saw from "wandering" on metal. The cut remains controllable, and the tool won't jerk out of your hands.
Cutting depth
Wood – up to 100 mm. Metal – up to 8 mm. Profile pipes, angle iron, construction timber, 50 mm boards – the saw handles these without interruption.
Soft start
An electronic controller starts the motor smoothly, without any jerk. Even if you pull the trigger fully, the teeth won't snag at the entry point, and the saw won't lurch at startup. This prevents damage on laminate, plastic pipes, and thin plywood.
Overload protection
If the blade jams, the controller cuts power to the motor faster than a muscular reflex can react. The tool doesn't burn out, the gearbox avoids impact loads, and the blade teeth don't strip.

Tool-less blade change
The mechanism is located at the base of the plunger. Rotate the sleeve – the blade is released. Click it in – it's locked. Everything is done one-handed, without keys and without touching a hot blade. Average change time: 2 seconds.
Three fixed speed modes
A selector with clear positions: 2000, 2500, 3000 strokes per minute. The user chooses the speed for the material. 2000 for metal and hard plastic: clean, precise, without overheating the blade. 3000 for demolition, wood, composites: fast, aggressive, with minimal feed force.
Simultaneous variable speed trigger
The trigger operates within the selected range. A light press starts the saw. Pressing fully reaches the chosen 2000, 2500, or 3000 spm. This allows you to start the cut at minimum speed for accurate positioning, then increase RPM without lifting your finger.
Battery charge indicator on the body
Three LEDs are placed in direct line of sight. You can see the remaining power even if the battery is partly obscured by your hand.
Pivoting adjustable shoe
In the closed position, it holds the blade closer to the material – minimal vibration, accurate cutting along the marked line. In the open position, it increases the pendulum effect, allowing the saw to literally "bite" into soft wood.
Trigger lock-off button
Mechanically locks the trigger. Prevents accidental start-up when carrying in a bag, changing blades, or inserting the battery. Safety here is designed for real-world conditions where you often need to reposition the tool while working.
Weight 1.6 kg
This is the actual weight of the ready-to-use tool body. The saw won't fatigue your wrist when cutting on vertical surfaces and won't strain your forearm when working one-handed overhead.
Compatibility and value
BRS-18Li-XK works with the Makita 18V LXT system. We don't want you to buy a second fleet of batteries. If you already have 18V batteries and chargers – you simply get the tool body without paying extra for unnecessary batteries.
